Shine Inclusive Day Nursery

Shine Day Nursery specialises in providing excellent childcare to children aged 2 to 5 years during term time. The nursery is designed to suit a wide range of play and learning activities within 2 large well-equipped rooms and children have access to 2 large outdoor spaces.

Our Aim is to provide full day-care in a fun, safe, secure, happy,

and stimulating environment, offering quality learning experiences for every child.

We recognise that early experiences lay the foundation to your child’s self-esteem, interaction, and motivation. Shine has adopted the Thrive approach and therefore, we are focused on nurturing and fostering positive experiences to support your child’s development every step of the way.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

We are committed to the individual care of children, as we understand that each child is different. The nursery team have a wealth of expereince in supporting children with additional needs and work with, and form positive partnerships with families, other agencies, and a range of therapists to ensure each child can reach their full potential.

 

The setting is safe and secure, with CCTV in operation throughout the building.

 

Our vision is to build positive caring relationships based on trust and respect where all children can Thrive and develop their skills at their own pace and become successful learners

Our Nursery Staff

Our friendly dedicated staff team are professionally trained to a high standard and qualified in their field. Our Nursery team is made up of Early Years Practitioners, who hold childcare qualifications from Level 2 up to and including Level 6.

Practitioners are committed to their continued professional development and will undertake additional training courses to further their development and skills.  Additional qualifications and responsibilities include:

  • Nominated CACHE Level 3 Senco (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Award
  • Nominated English as Additional Language Coordinator
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Fire Safety
  • Safeguarding the Welfare of Children
  • Basic food hygiene
  • Use of Sign-a-long
  • Use of Visual Timetables, now and then boards
  • Awareness and use of Picture Exchange System (PECs)
  • Autism Awareness
  • Nursery Manager is currently studying BTEC in supporting children with Visual Impairment

 

Shine is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

 

Shine follows a safer recruitment process which includes rigorous recruitment checks which are carried out and all employees are subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Laura Budworth – Nursery Manager

Meet Laura Budworth, our dedicated Nursery Manager here at Shine Day Nursery. With a solid background in Early Childhood Education and years of hands-on experience in the field, Laura stands at the forefront of our operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and effectively.

 

Laura’s journey into childcare began at an early age, driven by her innate passion for fostering young minds and guiding them towards their full potential. This passion led her to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education, paving the way for a rewarding career dedicated to children’s welfare and development.

Joanne Ross – Deputy Manager/Room Lead

Introducing Joanne Ross, our talented Deputy Manager and Room Lead at Shine Day Nursery. A seasoned professional in the field of early childhood education, Joanne combines her in-depth knowledge with practical experience to ensure the effective functioning of our nursery while also leading one of our dynamic learning rooms.

Joanne’s passion for nurturing young minds was the driving force that led her to pursue a career in early childhood education. She has an academic background in this field, supplemented by years of on-the-ground experience that allows her to understand and meet the diverse needs of each child.

Nicola Beavers – Room Lead

We’re proud to introduce Nicola Beavers, our dynamic Room Lead at Shine Day Nursery. Drawing on a strong background in early childhood education, Nicola crafts engaging and immersive experiences that stimulate learning and development in our young ones.

 

In her capacity as Room Lead, Nicola’s expertise comes to life as she thoughtfully curates a variety of interactive learning experiences. She understands that every child is unique and, as such, she focuses on tailoring each activity to meet their individual developmental needs and interests.

Mandy Camish-Bailey – Room Lead

Allow us to introduce Mandy Camish-Bailey, another one of our dynamic Room Leads at Shine Day Nursery. Mandy’s extensive experience in early childhood education and her unwavering passion for nurturing young minds make her a cherished asset in our team.

Her invaluable contributions are instrumental in shaping the positive learning journey for every child at our nursery.

Kirsty Garnham – Nursery Practitioner 

Kirsty Garnham is a devoted Nursery Practitioner at Shine Day Nursery. With her robust background in early childhood development and passion for nurturing young minds, Kirsty crafts engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for learning in each child.

Kyia Goffin – Nursery Practitioner

Kyia Goffin is an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner whose innovative teaching methods and hands-on approach are instrumental in fostering a vibrant learning environment at Shine Day Nursery. She is driven by her dedication to help children explore their potential in a nurturing and inclusive setting.

Sue Mcleod – Nursery Practitioner 

Sue McLeod, another of our diligent Nursery Practitioners, brings a wealth of experience in early childhood education. Her compassionate and patient approach to teaching creates a comforting environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to grow.

Alisha Pettigrew – Nursery Practitioner 

Alisha Pettigrew is a dynamic Nursery Practitioner known for her creative and energetic teaching style. Her commitment to crafting tailor-made learning experiences that spark curiosity and foster development makes her an integral part of our Shine Day Nursery team.

Donna Reynolds – Nursery Practitioner

Donna Reynolds serves as a Nursery Practitioner at Shine Day Nursery. Her professional expertise and heartfelt passion for children’s growth ensure that she consistently creates enriching, fun-filled learning opportunities that celebrate the uniqueness of each child.

Naomi Smith – Nursery Practitioner

Naomi Smith, a dedicated Nursery Practitioner, brings a blend of practical skills and theoretical knowledge to Shine Day Nursery. She ensures every child benefits from her expertise in early childhood development, helping them build strong foundations for future learning.

Carol Bell – Midday Supervisor

Carol Bell is our beloved Midday Supervisor at Shine Day Nursery. With a keen eye for detail and a caring demeanor, she ensures a seamless and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our children, contributing significantly to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that our nursery is known for.
